I will be playing shows in Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton with best pals The Doers August 30 to Sept 1. I am tickled to be playing the first shows in over 4 years by these amazing musicians and even more amazing friends!

I will be putting out a record of covers that I have recorded over the past 8 years including songs by Erics Trip, Shellac, Guided By Voices and others. Available only on a limited run of cdr’s.

I’m happy to announce that Calgary based Western Famine Records is going to put out my new full length “I Have Climbed Mountains, I Will Climb Mountains”. Advance copies will be available at the Calgary and Edmonton shows on CD. The vinyl will be released later in the fall.

June is the month where we make a new record. This thing has been growing in our bellies much longer than the 3 or 4 or 5 trimesters or whatever is medically normal. It’s gonna be like giving birth to blonde – well endowed, Scandinavian octuplets. Or, twin John Stamoses. Which ever floats yr boat. Which is to say, it’s gonna hurt, but the outcome should be mighty fine.

This has been in the works for a while and will be out soonish. It’s being put out by the amazing label – Saved by Vinyl. Dawn, who runs things there is at the top of the heap when it comes to lovin’ music. Her support of music in Alberta and beyond is unmatched. They’ve been around for almost a decade. Some of my favorite things they’ve put out are records by Ox, Jim Bryson, Extra Happy Ghost!!!, Snailhouse, and Ryan Bourne.

Both songs on the record are perhaps the catchiest either of us have recorded. Lucid 44 frontman, Markus/beerwolfe and I go way back and it tickles to be given the opportunity to have this come out.
